NEBRASKA CITY – The Buck Snort Restaurant announced on Facebook this morning that it will close at the end of the business day on Monday, Nov. 11.

The statement thanks everyone for their support over the past two years and says the restaurant is happy to have been part of the community. Gift cards will be accepted at other locations in Red Oak, Glenwood, Council Bluffs, Neola, Oakland and Harlan.

The restaurant location at 715 First Corso had been Parker’s Smokehouse and sold in 2018 to CBS LLC, which also owns Buck Snort’s Neola, Iowa, location.  The building was home to Li’L Dickies in 2009.

Luigi’s Restaurant at the former PJ's at the Depot location is closed. The 725 S. Sixth St. location is owned by Nebraska City Industrial Development.

Porter’s, featuring barbecue, opened this spring at Arbor Day Farm in a space formerly known as the pie garden.

A grand opening is scheduled Friday, Nov. 8, at Blake’s Place. The location at 228 E. Fourth Corso was formerly Mary’s Café. A NCTC ribbon cutting is at 5:15 p.m.
