Area Teams Qualify For National Land Judging
TECUMSEH – FFA teams from Fullerton and Franklin won the top two spots in the State Land Judging Contest held near Tecumseh on Oct. 23.
They were among a field of 154 contestants in teams of four to identify soil types, uses, depth and organic matter.
Pawnee City’s team of Austin Branch, Bailey McLaughlin, Madison Branek and Olivia Gottula earned third.
Palmyra’s team of Davi Rodriquez, Josh Jones, Teagan Bogle and Nate Palm were fourth.
Tri County will join the top four teams in the national Land Judging Contest scheduled in Oklahoma this May.
Individual prizes were to Johnson County Central’s Levi Dorey and Madison Branek of Pawnee City.
Palmyra’s Zach Kirchner and Nate Palm and Pawnee City’s Gwen Olberding also placed.
Falls City’s team of Seth Brewer, Tyler Uhri, Gwen Olberding and Keldon Campbell were seventh out of a 30-team field.
