Mortuary Sign Damaged in 11th Street Accident

NEBRASKA CITY – A Nebraska City man was cited for failure to yield right of way for an 11^th Street accident Oct. 21 that damaged the sign at Peterson Mortuary.

A police accident report says 71-year-old David Wilberger pulled his pickup from First Avenue onto 11^th Street in the path of a Mercury Milan, driven by 21-year-old Jose Colendris Ureste Jr.

Ureste's vehicle hit  Wilberger's vehicle and then the business sign. He was taken to CHI Health St. Mary’s with minor injuries.

Damage to the business sign is estimated at $6,000.
