Truck Turns In Front Of Harlan Street Traffic
Witness says Falls City woman did everything she could to avoid a collision
FALLS CITY – A Falls City driver was pinched off of Harlan Street by a turning truck and semi-trailer on Monday.
A police report indicates that 47-year-old Kristine Vrtiska was driving beside the truck when it swerved left and then turned right in Vrtiska’s path.
A witness told police that Vrtiska swerved and went on the curb near 21st Street as she tried to avoid a collision, but was still struck by the turning truck.
Police estimate damage to Vrtiska’s Chrysler Pacifica at $2,000 and damage to the truck, driven by 61-year-old William Morehead of Shubert, at $200.
