Update: The 911 emergency dispatch system has been restored in southeast Nebraska.

NEBRASKA CITY -- The 911 emergency call system in Otoe County was down Wednesday  morning in portions of Otoe, Nemaha and Richardson counties.

Incoming calls to 911 centers were automatically transferred to dispatchers in Cass and Jefferson counties.

There is no official explanation for the outage that began around 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

 

The outage included the text-to-911 service, offered in January by Southeast Region 911.
