Peru State Sweeps Graceland Triangular
(Peru, Neb.) – For the first time all season long, the Peru State volleyball team won back-to-back matches. On Saturday, the Bobcats defeated Graceland and Haskell Indian Nation University in Lamoni, Iowa.
The Bobcats defeated the hosts 23-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-23 to win the Heart of America Athletic Conference match-up. With the win, the 'Cats improved to 6-18 overall and more importantly, went ahead of Graceland in the conference standings with a 3-5 Heart mark. Graceland fell to 6-17 on the year and are now 2-7 in conference play.
After taking down the hosts, Peru State defeated the Fighting Indians 19-25, 26-24, 25-23, 25-15. With the win, the 'Cats improved to 7-18 on the season. Haskell fell to 7-13.
The Bobcats will travel to Oskaloosa, Iowa, Tuesday night to face William Penn at 7 p.m. The Statesmen are 9-12 on the year and are just ahead of the 'Cats in the Heart with a 4-8 mark.
