Julian Hosts Progress Celebration On Oct. 13
Mrs. Henry Ford to speak about how her husband's invention impacted towns like Julian

JULIAN - The Julian Preservation Committee is hosting a progress celebration in downtown Julian at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13.
Accomplishments include restoration of the historic filling station, a welcome sign for Julian, a new flag pole and historic photograph display.
A Nebraska state historical marker has also been established that highlights Julian’s origin as an early French settlement in southeast Nebraska.
Sherry Winkinhofer will portray Mrs. Henry Ford and share how her husband’s invention impacted villages like Julian.
The Southeast Nebraska Band will play and the community building will be open for coffee and desserts.
The “Little Queen Bee,” a separate project organized by the Honeybees of the Heartland group, has also been installed near the refurbished filling station and community building. It has become part of the “old main street of Julian.”
The “Little Queen Bee” was donated by friends and family of Louise Scholl Howe who grew up in Julian and honors her and her Auburn elementary class that convinced the 1975 Nebraska Legislature to establish the honey bee as the Nebraska state insect.
The Julian Preservation Committee encourages everyone to bring a lawn chair.
