Teen Strikes Utility Pole Near Toddy Shop
Minor injuries reported
NEBRASKA CITY – Minor injuries were reported after a Chevrolet pickup hit a utility pole near the Toddy Shop in Nebraska City.
A police report indicates that 16-year-old Cheyenne Brodersen of Nebraska City turned too wide from Third Corso onto 11th Street and hit the pole.
A passenger attempted to grab the wheel and steer away from the pole, but it was too late. Police also say a floor mat was bunched up beneath the pedals, which may have distracted the driver.
Nebraska City Fire and Rescue took Brodersen and a 13-year-old passenger to CHI St.Mary’s. Damage to the pole is estimated at $500.
