Crash Disrupts New School Bus Delivery
Woman suffers minor injuries when her car is hit by a school bus
SYRACUSE – Minor injuries were reported after an accident involving a school bus on Highway 2 west of Syracuse.
Rescue crews were dispatched at 2:24 p.m. on Monday and found a woman with possible back injuries. She had slowed in the westbound lane of Highway 2 to turn on Road 28.
Otoe County Sheriff’s Deputy James Parsons said the driver of the school bus said he looked down for just a moment and when he looked up he could not avoid the collision. The Ford was pushed into the far bank of the highway and the bus sustained enough damage that it had to be towed.
No one was in the bus except the driver. It was a brand new bus being delivered to the Jordan school district.
Other buses on the convoy stopped at the scene, but were not involved in the accident.
