Murray Man Wanted For Manslaughter

PLATTSMOUTH – Cass County prosecutors have filed a charge of manslaughter and failure to render aid against Jade Gunn, 35, of Murray.
Gunn is suspected of driving his Nissan Pathfinder through a stop sign and hitting a Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 58-year-old Tammy Martin at the intersection of 24th Street and Mynard Road on June 30.
Firefighters extricated the Murray woman from the Trailblazer and she was taken by medical helicopter to CHI Bergan Mercy, where she later died.
An affidavit in support of an arrest warrant for Gunn says he fled the scene after talking with a resident who heard the crash and came to investigate.
The resident told Cass County sheriff deputies that he is upset with Gunn for not telling him there was another vehicle involved in the crash. An estimated 15 minutes passed before the resident found Martin in her overturned vehicle and called for help.
Gunn's residence was about four miles southeast of the accident scene, but he was not located by searches that included the Nebraska Air Patrol.
Gunn later told investigators that he does not remember the accident. A warrant for his arrest was issued on Tuesday.
