TECUMSEH – A large sink hole is delaying construction of the new swimming pool in Tecumseh.

The 20-foot sink hole was found during demolition of the old swimming pool. It had developed where there were leaks in the pool and piping.

The hole was big enough to hold a bulldozer.

City Clerk Janelle Moran said the bulldozer went into the hole and you couldn’t see it from ground level.

Moran said the hole is not causing a long delay, but the city does have to install geo-netting and compact three-inch rock to level the hole before continuing with the new pool.

In other action, the city council voted Aug. 5 to approve the hiring of Kerri Miller as deputy city clerk.
