Woman Alerts Police To Meth After Man Names Her In $10 Counterfeit Case
NEBRASKA CITY - Emanuel Maxwell, 27, of Nebraska City is charged with possession on Aug. 14 at Nuckolls Square Park.
An affidavit says Maxwell is the alleged victim of counterfeit $10 bills and police say he named a woman at the park as the person who gave him the bills.
The woman told police that Maxwell was in possession of methamphetamine, but Maxwell denied it.
Police say a syringe that tested positive for meth was found in Maxwell's pocket. A second container of meth was found in the park. The affidavit says the container was found by the woman Maxwell had accused of passing counterfeit bills.
Bond for Maxwell is set at $15,000.
NEBRASKA CITY – Lekrista McCart, 26, of Nebraska City is charged with possession of a controlled substance on Aug. 14.
Police arrested McCart on an active warrant and say small amount of methamphetamine was found in her pocket during a search at the Otoe County jail.
Bond was set at $1,500.
