TECUMSEH – Tanya Binnick, 42, of Crab Orchard is charged in Johnson County with intentional child abuse due to conditions of her house and suspected illegal drug activity.

Johnson County sheriff’s deputies said her children, ages 10 and 11, were living with her in the house without electricity and without sufficient water pressure to regularly flush toilets.

Deputies, who had served a search warrant at the residence, said there was garbage, signs of rodents and multiple items of paraphernalia that tested positive for methamphetamine.

Deputies say three firearms with ammunition were found hidden in an attic area.

A sheriff’s office report says the house, which sold for $100 in 2014, is uninhabitable.
