FALLS CITY – Deputy Richardson County Attorney Samantha Scheitel is seeking the arrest of a Topeka man in connection with theft from the Dollar General in Falls City and the theft of a pickup and credit cards from a rural residence.

Scheitel told the Richardson County court that Falls City police and the Richardson County Sheriff’s Office investigated July 14 theft reports.

Following reports that a man left the Dollar General with a basket of merchandise, Dale Yoesel of rural Richardson County reported his 1998 Dodge Ram pickup stolen from his property northwest of Falls City.

Credit cards stolen from the residence were later used at Sonic and Walmart in Holton, Kan.

Deputies located a red Nissan Rouge abandoned about 1.5 miles from where the pickup was stolen. The Rouge had been reported stolen out of Topeka.

Between July 21 and July 25 three people sent messages to Facebook page identifying Joseph Sweigart, 39, as one of the men in the store video.
