Board Schedules Interviews For Richardson County Sheriff
Sickle on the mend from cardiovascular condition
FALLS CITY - The Richardson County Board reviewed applications for sheriff at its Tuesday meeting and selected three applicants for interviews next week.
Selected from five applicants are Richardson County deputies Rick Hardesty Jr. and Lyle McMann, as well as Falls City Police Officer and former deputy Mike Dougherty.
Deputy Roland Merwin was appointed acting sheriff after the July 6 resignation of Don Pounds. He did not apply for the position to fill Pound’s unexpired term until January of 2022.
Former Sheriff Randy Houser was appointed jail administrator.
In other action, Mark Joy and Sandra Stalder of Humboldt Shares told commissioners the organization will request continued funding in the amount of $5,000 for the next fiscal year.
Commissioner David Sickle returned to the board meetings. He had been absent since June 10 while he underwent treatment for a cardiovascular condition. He said he is still healing, but is on the mend.
