NEBRASKA CITY- Nicolas Brodigan, 22, of Nebraska City is charged with domestic violence on Oct. 19.

A Nebraska City police affidavit says the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services received a report of a woman suffering a broken neck. The affidavit says the woman drove herself to the emergency room at CHI Health and was transported by ambulance to an Omaha hospital. Police say they saw medical records indicating that a vertebra had been broken in two places and the woman was having difficulty using her right arm.

The affidavit says police observed messages where the woman told Brodigan that he nearly paralyzed her and broke her nose.

Police investigators told the court they found no evidence to confirm Brodigan’s claim that the woman had fallen down steps. The affidavit says the woman did tell others she had fallen down the steps, but says she talked to police after she was assured her daughter would not be taken from her.

Brodigan is held on a $500,000 bond.

In a separate case, Eric Hosford, 19, of Nebraska City is charged with attempting a felony on Sept. 22.

Nebraska City police told the court there was an assault with bodily injury at Nuckolls Square Park.

The court set a $10,000 bond.
