Falls City would split duties at city hall

FALLS CITY – City Administrator Anthony Nussbaum is recommending changes splitting duties of the city clerk and city treasurer, which are currently merged with the city administrator’s job duties.
Nussbaum recommends job descriptions for deputy city clerk/human resources and deputy treasurer/utility billing manager.
He said the timing fits because of administrative staff changes at city hall.
The human resources coordinator would prepare public meetings and legal notices and serve as custodian for public records, as well a coordinating job postings and assist with payroll.
The city treasurer would verify balances, assist with payroll, perform bookkeeping and maintain positive public relations.
The Falls City City Council approved fines for code violations including traffic, pet and property nuisance violations.
A violation of open burn ban, worthless vegetation and trash nuisance are $25 for first offense.
Unlicensed dogs and cats and animals at large are $25.
Improper parking is $10, screeching tires is $25 and it’s $100 for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and littering.
Evergy memorandum of understanding for a new delivery point from a substation in central Kansas and the Southwest Power Pool.
The memorandum is to begin developing an agreement where Falls City constructs a 115kV line to the substation.
The Aliver Foundation is donating to install an all-weather defibrillator and enclosure at Grandview Park.
