AUBURN - Aimee Shipley, 35, of Auburn is charged with felony theft in Nemaha County on Nov. 15.

A sheriff’s office affidavit says Dollar General reported missing deposits and unusual losses in a year’s time.

The affidavit says Shipley told investigators that she suspects that the three night deposits were stolen from her Trailblazer while she checked on kids at school. The affidavit says Shipley told a Dollar General loss prevention officer she had the deposits in her vehicle while looking for her missing son, but that he had been at school the whole time. She denies taking the deposits.

The affidavit says the sheriff’s office suspects a portion of the deposits were used to pay the bail of an Auburn man who was charged with menacing threats in October.

In separate Nemaha County cases, Mara Manzer, 50, of Auburn is charged with possession on May 5.

A Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office affidavit says a search warrant was obtained for a safe that was located insider of Manzer’s Seventh Street residence. The affidavit says 5 grams of methamphetamine and a handgun were found.

Jason Brownell, 45, Falls City is charged in Nemaha County with possession of hydrocodone on June 5.

He is scheduled to appear in county court on Aug. 18.
