AUBURN – Auburn Mayor Chris Erickson has 11 days remaining to file a response if he wants his response to be included on recall petition forms.

Auburn resident Amanda Powell filed for a recall petition on July 23.

Election Officer Diane Johnson said, once the petition forms are prepared, Powell will have 30 days to get signatures from at least 35 percent of the total votes for mayor in the last election. That means she will have to have 313 valid signatures for Johnson to schedule a recall election.

Mayor Erickson is up for election in November of 2026.

In her recall petition, Powell claims abuse of office, ineffective leadership and an improper appointment.

She said the mayor prevents open dialogue with the council.

Powell said inequality and unfair treatment persist based on identity and status.
