Cass County court sets $100,000 bond

PLATTSMOUTH - Kim Hammond, 27, of Omaha is charged in Cass County with possession of a stolen vehicle on June 26 and flight to avoid arrest.

A Cass County Sheriff’s Office affidavit says Nebraska City police reported a stolen Chevrolet pickup from the Speedee Mart and deputies got behind the vehicle after it crossed into Cass County.

The affidavit says the vehicle was traveling over 100 mph and was weaving in and out of traffic. A traffic stop was attempted, but no pursuit was initiated.

A drone search assisted with locating the truck on Hill Street in Plattsmouth. The affidavit says Nebraska City police identified Hammond as a suspect. Hammond is accused of damaging the interior of the truck in an attempt to disable the OnStar electronic system.

A bond of $100,000 was set in county court.

Cassgram reports a separate stolen vehicle arrest.

The Nebraska State Patrol air wing coordinated stop sticks near Eagle for a stolen Mitsubishi Outlander. The stop sticks slowed the vehicle which came to a stop near the MoPac Trail.
