NEBRASKA CITY - Kathleen DeVorss presented a JAG report at the Nebraska City School Board’s Jan. 13 meeting.

Students competed in a Shark Tank event, presenting their ideas to a staff of sharks played by Mr. Blum, Mrs. Bartman, Mrs. Sherwin, Mrs. Moyer and Mr. Bandy.

JAG students also visited the Morton mansion at Arbor Lodge State Park.

Representatives of Charles Schwab and Financial Beginnings spoke to students about the importance of making smart financial choices.

Mr. Pauli’s physics class built a trebuchet in the first semester and had a chance to test it before the winter break.

Hayward Elementary reports that 150 students received perfect attendance awards for December, an increase of 26 students over November.

The middle school reports that 96 percent of students received at least one positive referral in the first semester for exhibiting the Pioneer way.

Eighth graders attended The Nutcracker ballet at the Orpheum Theater on Dec. 12.

The school also held a parent meeting Dec. 10 regarding the BraveBe digital citizenship program.
