KEARNEY, Neb. - The remnants of a Kearney fast food restaurant destroyed by fire are now coming down.

Demolition started Monday at the Taco John's on E 25th Street. The restaurant has been vacant since a fire engulfed it in October. Investigators determined the fire started by the spontaneous combustion of oil grease rags. It happened after the restaurant had closed for the night and there were no injuries. 20 firefighters worked for three-and-a-half hours before considering the fire contained.

Owner Ed Wiltgen has since vowed to rebuild another Taco John's in the place of the burned out building.
