NORFOLK - The Battle Creek girls and Norfolk Catholic boys came into Friday's doubleheader as two of the winningest teams in Class C, and looked the part as the Bravettes won 53-32, while the Knights boys were victorious 79-53.

Battle Creek began the girls' half of the double dip in dominant fashion, jumping out to a 7-0 lead and never relinquishing it, leading by 9 at the break and winning by 21. Sami Wemhoff topped all Bravettes with 13, while Sidonia Wattier did all she could in a losing cause, scoring 17.

The Norfolk Catholic boys avenged that loss with a commanding victory of their own, starting with an 11-0 advantage in the 1st. Battle Creek was able to close the gap to 3 points late in the 2nd, but the Knights won going away in the second half. Hayden Kelley paced Catholic with 24, with the Braves' M.J. Wragge chipping in 20.

Norfolk Catholic (3-9 girls. 8-4 boys) hits the road to take on Columbus Scotus Tuesday, while Battle Creek (9-2 girls, 4-7 boys) is at West Point-Beemer that same night.
