BEATRICE – Beatrice Police have arrested three people in a significant narcotics investigation…which included serving a search warrant Thursday at a residence in the two-hundred block of Sumner Street in the west part of the city.

Those arrested include 65-year-old Shelia Arington…59-year-old Steven Frye….and 33-year-old Taylor A. Smith.

Police arrested the trio on charges such as possession and distribution of controlled substances, firearm possession and possession of drug money, among other counts.

Officers said Arington and Frye were at the home while the search warrant was being executed.  Smith was arrested after previously arranged drug purchases were made by officers December 1st and December 21st….one at a local fast food restaurant…and the other, at the home along Sumner Street.  Police had confirmed that Smith had been living at the home and that distribution of narcotics had been taking place there.

During the search of the residence, Arington allegedly surrendered about 1.75 grams of methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe. Police also recovered a second pipe, a digital scale and seven readily accessible firearms.

During a search of Frye…police found micro baggies of suspected meth, sheets of cellophane utilized for packaging the drug, and over $600 in cash.  The meth seized from Frye totaled about 5.4 grams.

Taylor A. Smith was arrested during a traffic stop, early Friday at 6th and Garfield.   Police conducting the stop recovered $859 from Smith.   Nothing else was located on Smith, or in the vehicle.

Shelia Arington was arrested for drug and drug paraphernalia possession, aiding and abetting drug distribution…and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.

Steven Frye was arrested for possession and distribution of drugs…possession of drug paraphernalia and drug money, and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.

Taylor A. Smith was arrested for two counts of drug distribution, possession of drugs and drug money…and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.

All three were being held in the Gage County Jail.
