Additional suspect from multi-agency operation arrested
KIMBALL -- A Kimball resident was arrested last week on a felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
Joe Serrato was one of 10 individuals arrested as a result of a multi-agency operation in Sidney earlier in the month.
As News Channel Nebraska previously reported, the operation that involved executing search warrants on multiple homes was conducted between the Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office, Kimball Police Department, Nebraska State Patrol, and Sidney Regional Ambulance Service.
Sidney Chief of Police Sam Lovato said Serrato was not arrested during the initial operation because he sustained injuries that were self-inflicted while attempting to hide and needed to seek medical attention.
In that time, Serrato also relocated to Kimball, so when Cheyenne County issued an arrest warrant, the Sidney and Kimball Police Departments collaborated to locate him.
Officers of the KPD located and arrested Serrato on Dec. 23.
“This is just another example of how the agencies can work together to work more efficiently,” Lovato said.
