FALLS CITY - Falls City Public School has hired an architecture firm to study the effectiveness of existing school facilities for teaching and learning.

BVH Architecture, with offices in Lincoln, Omaha and Denver, has recently conducted a high school visioning project in Omaha and designed the Southeast Community College Academic Excellence Center.

Superintendent Tim Heckenlively said BVH will work closely with the school board to evaluate the alignment between facilities and future educational programs.

The assessment will inform the development of a master plan that includes potential project budgets, schedules and phasing plans.

Heckenlively said school staff, students and the community will participate in the planning.

The Falls City Public School Board of Education has selected BVH Architecture to conduct a comprehensive facility assessment and develop a master plan for future improvements. This process will begin this fall and is anticipated to be complete in the spring of 2025.

BVH will work closely with Falls City Public Schools to analyze existing facilities, evaluate their alignment with current and future educational programs, and study the effectiveness of the facilities for teaching and learning. This assessment will inform the development of a master plan that includes potential project budgets, schedules, and phasing plans.

To ensure that all stakeholders have a voice in the process, the district will provide opportunities for school staff, students, and the community to participate in the planning. This input will help the Board of Education understand the full needs of the community and make informed decisions.
