Humboldt couple donate to sheriff for community events

FALLS CITY – Richardson County commissioners declared a state of emergency due to a high-water event on June 19.
EMA Director Brian Kirkendall said the declaration will make it possible to apply to the Governor’s Emergency Fund to improve public safety.
There was heavy rainfall in the river's upper basin on June 19. The Missouri River went from below five feet in March to 23.7 feet on July 3. The river was in flood stage for 15 days from June 24 to July 8.
In other action, Stan and Joan Stalder of Humboldt pledged a donation of $200 to the sheriff’s office to distribute candy during community events.
