DUBUQUE, IA - The Peru State Football Team defeated the Clarke University Pride in their first conference game of the season, 34-9, on Saturday, September 28. The Bobcats are now 3-1 and 1-0 in The North Division of the Heart of America Conference.
 
The Bobcats had 85 passing yards and 237 rushing yards against the Pride. The team only let the Eagles have 286 total offensive yards in the game.
 
The Bobcats struck early in the first quarter with Jordan Kempf having an 86-yard kickoff return to score the first touchdown of the game for the Bobcats. A three-yard rush by Stacian Livingston during the Bobcats' second possession scored a touchdown and put the Bobcats up 14-0. In the second quarter, Livingston added a 2-yard rushing touchdown early. Clarke made a field goal to put the score at 21-3 at halftime.
 
Caleb Jackson had a big interception for the Bobcats, returning it 78 yards to score the first touchdown of the second half. The Pride responded with a touchdown, making the score 28-9 going into the final quarter. Colin Shields threw a three-yard pass to Kaleb Herbel to score a the final touchdown of the game, putting the final score at 34-9.
 
Colin Shields had eight completions for 85 yards resulting in one touchdown, along with 49 rushing yards. Stacian Livingston had 90 rushing yards and scored two touchdowns for the Bobcats. Ricky Fulton added 40 rushing yards.

The Bobcats had just 85 receiving yards during the game with Kaleb Herbel having 35 yards and a touchdown.
 
Ja-Quez Oliver had six total tackles with two solo tackles. Jaylen Jean-Louis had five solo tackles. Ashley Thompson also had five total tackles with four being solo. Mason Benjamin had four total tackles with one solo, Gavin Dunkel had four assisted tackles.
