NEBRASKA CITY -- Folks at Arbor Day Farm say the AppleJack Festival at Nebraska City offers the opportunity to experience the joy of the harvest season and all flavors apple.

The culinary offerings include traditional favorites like pies, doughnuts and bags full of apples, but marketing manager Rachel Hrabik said there are some greats debuts as well.

Hrabik; “Special this year we have our apple-infused ice cream made in partnership with 402 Creamery. That is made with our apples and our apple cider. I would actually describe it more as an apple crisp ice cream. It has streusel in it with caramel drizzle. It is delicious.”

There are only 300 pints of the limited edition ice cream called Nebraska to the Core and it was only on sale at the festival.

Cider making dates back to the earliest settlers to America 400 years ago, but now there’s a non-alcoholic fizz.

Hrabik: “We’ve been making our own apple cider here at the farm for quite some time,  but we just thought we would take it a little different direction by doing the sparking apple cider and adding a little bit of carbonation to this can. And making it a more refreshing drink for all ages to enjoy.”
