NEBRASKA CITY - Otoe County voters favored Robert Hallstrom to replace Julie Slama in the state Legislature. Republicans also gave Donald Trump 75 percent of the vote and Democrats favored Joe Biden by 81 percent.

Republican Nikki Haley received 427 votes despite dropping out of the presidential race.

For state Legislature, Dennis Schaardt was the top vote getter districtwide, but Otoe County residents Glenda Willnerd and Robert Hallstrom contended for the second spot on the November ballot.

In Otoe County, Hallstrom won with 1,316 votes, followed by Schaardt with 770 and the Democrat Willnerd with 630.

In the county election, Republicans cast 2,106 ballots, about 34 percent of registered Republicans. Democrats cast 625 ballots, about 29 percent of registered Democrats.

Libertarians cast nine ballots and there 170 nonpartisan.

Of 10,712 registered voters, 2,962 ballots were cast for a voter turnout of 27 percent.
