VALLEY : Tornado Watch issued April 30 at 3:11PM CDT until April 30 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Omaha/Valley NE
VALLEY - The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for 18 counties in east and central Nebraska and eight counties in southwest Iowa.
The watch area includes Cass and Otoe counties in southeast Nebraska and Fremont, Mills and Montgomery counties in Iowa.
Cities in the watch area include Columbus, Farragut, Hamburg, Nebraska City, Plattsmouth, Sidney, Tabor and Shenandoah.
The Omaha/Valley station issued the watch until 10 p.m. today.
Storm tracker April 30
11:29 a.m. – Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., issued updated forecast map with enhanced risk in area including Kansas City and Des Moines. A fast-moving trough is moving across the Central Rockies into the plains while southernly low-level winds are transporting moisture as far north as southeast Nebraska.
1:33 p.m. – NWS issues tornado watch for 18 counties in Nebraska including Burt, Butler, Cass, Colfax, Cuming, Dodge, Douglas, Lancaster, Madison, Otoe, Platte, Saline, Sarpy, Saunders, Seward, Stanton, Thurston and Washington counties until 10 p.m.
2 p.m. – Nebraska City Airport reports dewpoint rising from 58 to 60 and overcast skies.
