Accident prompts third rescue call in 15 minutes

Update: A police report says a Dodge Caliber driven by Danielle Dudley of Auburn pulled out of the Walmart parking lot and was hit by an Aura XE driven by by Isabella Watkins of Omaha.

Witnesses told police the Aura was in the turn lane with a blinker indicating a turn into Walmart, but suddenly changed lanes to continue north on 11th Street.

Nebraska City Fire and Rescue took Dudley to CHI Health St. Mary's with possible, minor injuries.

 

 

NEBRASKA CITY - Emergency crews were dispatched at 4 p.m. for an injury accident on south 11th Street near the Walmart entrance.

There was airbag deployment in the Nemaha County car, which sustained driver's side impact from 11th Street traffic.

Nebraska City police are investigating.

The dispatch came as a third call for Nebraska City Rescue, which had a transfer call three minutes earlier and a call 15 minutes earlier to Fifth Avenue for a patient with abdominal pain.

Firefighters were currently at a hay bale fire south of town.
