AUBURN – A 43-year-old Auburn man is charged in Nemaha County with first degree sexual assault, use a weapon to commit a felony, terroristic threats and tampering with a witness pending a felony.

Joseph Larner is scheduled for a court appearance today. A defense attorney is not yet listed on court records.

An arrest affidavit says a Nemaha County sheriff’s deputy was dispatched Feb. 24 after a woman said she was assaulted, threatened with a baseball bat and sexually assaulted.

Larner telephoned the woman while deputies were present and talked about what happened. After his arrest, Larner denied harming the woman.

A $100,000 bond was set in Nemaha County Court, where Larner is scheduled for a preliminary  hearing on April 2.
