Recycling, keno grants benefit athletic track
School awarded grants for Turf and Dirt Initiative

NEBRASKA CITY – The Nebraska City Public Schools announced grants awards for an overcoat of the athletic track at Pioneer Field and repairs to the southeast corner.
The Nebraska Waste Reduction and Recycling Incentive Grant program awarded $98,412 and the school is receiving $20,000 from the Otoe County Keno Grant Program.
The school board approved the project at its December 12 meeting for completion prior to the next school year.
Superintendent Mark Fritch thanked the community for supporting the Turf and Dirt Initiative to maintain and improve the athletic complex at the high school.
He listed projects completed in the last few years and funding sources.
