Marilyn K. Boardman, age 69 of Nehawka, NE (formerly Nebraska City) passed away early Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Astoria Senior Living in Omaha, NE surrounded by her loving family.

Marilyn Kathleen (Hauder) Boardman was born on February 23, 1954 in Savannah, GA; the daughter of Charles L. and Evelyn M. (Kuhlman) Hauder.  The family later moved to Nebraska City, where she attended and graduated from Lourdes Central Catholic with the Class of 1972. She later attended Peru State College and Lincoln School of Commerce.

On June 30, 1973, Marilyn was united in marriage to Larry L. Boardman at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Nebr. City and to this union three children were born:  Phillip, Andrew and Kori.  After getting married, the couple lived in Lincoln and Marilyn worked for State Farm Insurance.  They would later move to the Nebraska City area where she worked at Pendleton Woolen Mills for 22 years, the Lied Center, Valentinos and lastly American Meter Co. for some five years.

She was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.  She also taught CCD and was very involved in the Nebraska City Jaycees.  Marilyn and Larry were awarded the Nebraska State Jaycee Couple of the Year in 1979.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry Boardman of Nehawka, NE; children:  Phillip J. “PJ” Boardman of Omaha, NE and Kori L. Stuck (Aaron) of Nebr. City, NE; four grandchildren:  Destiny Boardman, Andrew Boardman, Savannah Stuck and Riley Stuck; siblings:  Jerry Hauder (Deb) of Lincoln, NE, Bernard Hauder (Sharis) of Dallas, TX, Bill Hauder (Renee) of Omaha, NE, Tricia Withee of Omaha, NE, Janet Scott (Bruce) of Nebr. City, NE and Robert Hauder of Nacogdoches, TX; other family and friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her son Andrew Boardman; her parents Charles and Evelyn Hauder; infant sister Mary Patricia Hauder; sister Karen Boehnke; brother Charles Hauder, Jr. and brother-in-law Kevin Withee.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.  Burial will follow at East Union Cemetery in Union, NE.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday (11/26) at the mortuary.

Memorials may be given to the Lourdes Endowment Fund in her memory.
