According to Lincoln Police, Rienk Mast was attacked while riding a scooter in Lincoln at 13th and L streets

LINCOLN, Neb. - Fred Hoiberg announced some injury news on Friday morning, one he called "a random act of violence."

According to Lincoln Police, Rienk Mast was attacked while riding a scooter in Lincoln at 13th and L streets on Oct. 19. Mast, 22, was taken to the hospital with a suspected broken nose. 

Lincoln Police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Nicholas Deluca, who pushed Mast off his scooter and punched him several times. Deluca was taken into custody for aggravated assault, according to authorities.

Hoiberg announced Mast will miss Nebraska's exhibition game with Doane on Sunday.
