NEBRASKA CITY - Lisa Creason, an Illinois woman who became a beacon of light for people working to put past convictions behind them, has been fined $1,000 in Otoe County for attempted possession of methamphetamine on March 7.

Creason, 50, is subject of the documentary film titled “Free to Care” and told a Nebraska State Trooper she was in Nebraska to see screening of the film.

Iron Light Labs is  hoping her story will help change laws in 15 states that bar people with past convictions from professions like nursing.
