Freedom flights planned at Bethel Church

Live music, Rivercity Carnival starts at 1 p.m.

NEBRASKA CITY – Freedom flights are back on the Independence Day schedule at Nebraska City this weekend.

Bethel Church, which has food trucks and a watermelon feed planned across the street from Treestock in Steinhart Park, expected  to cancel its helicopter rides earlier this month, but reported Wednesday that the event is back on.

Ride The Sky Helicopters will be charging $120 for two people or $150 for three for rides about 15 minutes long.

The Bethel Church will also have food trucks, a watermelon feed and dunk tank. Nebraska City Mayor Bryan Bequette is scheduled for the tank at 4 p.m.

The church is holding a contemporary  worship service at 6 p.m.

 

Treestock events include the River City Carnival, which opens at 1 p.m. and continues until the fireworks show.

The cornhole tournament benefits the Nebraska City High School football program.

NOWEAR BMX freestyle stunt shows are at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.

The Southeast Nebraska Community Band and local barbershop choruses will play at the ice cream social, which starts at 6:30 p.m.

5 p.m.  Mike Semrad & the Riverhawks

7 p.m. The Talbott Brothers!
