Rex D. Peterson, age 64 of rural Nebraska City passed away on Friday; June 9, 2023 at his home.

Rex Dean Peterson was born on October 30, 1958 in Nebraska City; the son of Donald E. and Carol A. (Myers) Peterson.  He attended school and graduated from the Nebraska City High School with the Class of 1977.

Rex was a life-long farmer.  He was a life-time member of OOIDA and the Eagles Club in Nebr. City.  He enjoyed fishing and mud racing, but his greatest love was spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his sons:  Joshua Peterson (Samantha) of Nebr. City and Rex Peterson II (fiance’ Nichole Hensley) and son Ayden of Dunbar, NE; two grandchildren:  Karlee Peterson and Taylor Nicolay; his mother Carol (Peterson) Knickman of Nebr. City; sister Renee Peterson (David Mead) of Nebr. City; other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Donald Peterson on April 28, 2008.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, June 24 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Eagles Club in Nebraska City.  Memorials in his memory may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Nebr. City M.U.N.C.H. Program or the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary #968 in Nebr. City.
