Driver killed after car strikes Omaha house

OMAHA, Neb. -- Authorities in Omaha are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to Hamilton Street just east of Highway 75 for a single-car accident.

According to Omaha Police, a 2009 Honda Civic was eastbound on Hamilton when the vehicle left the roadway and struck the corner of a house.

Officials said the driver and sole occupant was 18-year-old Jefferson Gomez-Caceres, of Omaha. He was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

The crash remains under investigation.
