OMAHA - Over  70 percent of Nebraska is gearing up for winter weather once again, with 67 of the state's 93 counties under a winter storm watch in the days ahead.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch that includes Cass County on Monday afternoon.

It says heavy snow is possible with accumulations greater than 4 inches. The watch goes from Wednesday to Thursday morning  and covers  21 counties.

Watches issued for other parts of the state, including the I-80 corridor in the western Nebraska , say up to 10 inches is possible through Wednesday night.

A winter storm warning was issued Monday for Dawson, Greeley, Sherman and Valley counties  near Kearney and Grand Island.

An Accuweather says snow is likely for Nebraska City Wednesday night turning to snow showers overnight.

Accuweather forecast a high of 28 and a low of 14  on Thursday with only a slight warmup through the weekend.
