FALLS CITY - Carol Glathar of Humboldt is proposing a sign and historical marker for the Lynchburg Cemetery.

Glathar told county commissioners she has received funds through Thrivent to assist in the sign, which will give the name of the cemetery. She also wants to add some of its history.

The county board declared the Lynchburg Cemetery   abandoned and neglected in 1999.

It is currently being mowed by Eric Crook. Carol and Roger Glathar have been removing brush and trees to help with the cemetery’s upkeep.

Glathar told commissioners she will continue to do research needed for the placement of a historical marker.
