AUBURN – The Auburn City Council approved a new contract for garbage collection with a familiar company at its meeting Monday.
American Recycling & Sanitation of Rock Port, Mo., has served Auburn for over 25 years.
Under the new contract, residential families will pay $14 to $16 per month and the city will pay $145 per month. Weekly curbside recycling will continue.
Garbage will be transported to transfer stations at Nebraska City or Rock Port, with a final destination at the Loess Hills Landfill near Malvern.
The contract is for three years.
