NEBRASKA CITY - A Nebraska City lawn business had a setback Friday when a riding lawn mower burst into flames.

Duane Rainey had just finished mowing for his customer in a Fourth Corso business district Friday when he heard a pop and saw a cloud of smoke.

Rainey put the mower in neutral and pushed it down the alley to a safe spot in a nearby parking lot, where firefighters extinguished the flame.

He told investigators that the engine starting running fast before the fire under the hood.

Rainey says he has other mowers in back-up, so he’ll be back in business right away.
