OPD: Additional arrest made in connection to 2021 fatal shooting

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha Police Department said they arrested a man in connection to a fatal shooting that happened in September of last year. 

OPD arrested 21-year-old Izayah Mapp on July 14. Mapp is an additional arrest for the September 21, 2021 shooting that killed 18-year-old Franco Vasquez and injured an 18-year-old woman. 

Mapp has been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree felony assault, and two counts of use of a weapon to commit a felony. 

On September 30, OPD had arrested 20-year-old J'Maun Haynie, who was 19-years-old at the time of the crime.
