Sheriff reports rollover, power pole crash

PLATTSMOUTH - Cass County Sheriff William Brueggemann reports a one-vehicle accident that caused a power outage.

Cass County deputies responded July 3 at 1:50 a.m. to the crash in the Buccaneer Bay area.

Investigators say 20-year-old Brock Moscato failed to negotiate a curve and struck a power pole, which snapped in half.

The vehicle came to rest entangled in power lines and the Buccaneer Bay area was without power.

Moscato was not injured, but was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.

The sheriff’s office also reports a rollover accident at the Interstate 80 exit at Greenwood.

A Ford 500 driven by Emma Budzinski, 21, of Ralston left the interstate and rolled after attempting to merge into the crowded middle lane. Ashland Rescue took Budzinski to CHI Bergan Mercy Hospital.
