NEBRASKA CITY - The Nebraska City City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, at the Rowe Safety Complex.
The agenda includes recognition of Beau Lee for winning two gold medals at state track, oath of McKenna Ahrens as a new police office and a report on Nebraska City Cats trap neuter and return program.
The council will consider a $19,914 loan to buy a vehicle for the building inspector, the hiring of an internal billing agent for the ambulance, and rezoning for 2709 Sylvan Road to residential office.
Council action is requested involving the Radler Bike Festival June 18-19, River City Classic Car Club use of Memorial Way on Sept. 18 and the community picnic at Wildwood Park on June 12.
A task order will go before the city regarding 11th Street viaduct repairs.
Re-appointments to the planning commission are Kathy Davenport, Jolene Block, Tyler Vock and Michael James. John Wenzl is a re-appointment to the Tree Board.
The council will discuss a lease agreement with the Veterans Memorial Building project and a closed session is considered regarding a “non-permitted signs” at Mayhew Cabin.
A sign was placed at the Mayhew Cabin location after a judge dismissed a lawsuit in Otoe County. Mayhew Cabin had alleged the city had an obligation to improve storm drainage in the area to reduce risks of flooding.

The Nebraska City Housing and Community Development Agency is scheduled to meet at 5:50 p.m. on June 7.
The agenda includes a collateral assignment for Nebraska City Lodging. The CDA has issued a $1.08 million redevelopment note for tax increment financing.
