Two injured in fiery semi crash near Weeping Water
Authorities say fatigue may have been a factor in a crash involving two semi-trailers.
WEEPING WATER, Neb. -- Two people were injured in a crash involving two semi-trailers near Weeping Water.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office says fatigue may have been a factor in the accident.
Sheriff William Brueggemann says first responders were called to the entrance of Hilltop Fill Stop along Highway 75 around 11:00 a.m. Monday.
On arrival, crews found one semi engulfed in flames.
Investigators say the driver of a northbound semi, a 32-year-old Lincoln man, hit a second semi that had slowed down to turn.
Authorities say the driver of the turning semi, a 40-year-old David City man, was not wearing a seatbelt and was treated at the scene.
The driver of the other semi was taken to a hospital in Lincoln.
