Wygant sentenced to probation
Falls City woman claims no knowledge of illegal drugs in her house

FALLS CITY – Dawn Wygant, 41, of Falls City was sentenced Tuesday to 18 months probation for attempted possession of methamphetamine in October.
Deputy Richardson County Attorney Samantha Scheitel said Wygant had not completed a substance abuse evaluation as ordered by the court and does not take responsibility for methamphetamine found in her residence.
Defense Attorney Allen Fankhauser said that’s because law enforcement was called to do a welfare check on children at the house by the same person who had opportunity to hide drugs in the residence beforehand.
Judge Julie Smith noted that Wygant has no prior criminal record and ordered a substance abuse evaluation as part of her probation.
