OMAHA, Neb. -- Slashed tires, trash can fires and several smashed cakes are all part of an Omaha Police investigation.

Omaha Police and the Omaha Fire Department's Arson Investigations Unit are looking into what they say are several related incidents of property destruction in the area of 82nd and Hascall Street.

Officers responded to the area at 6:08 a.m. Tuesday in response to reports of five to six juveniles damaging property.

OPD officials found five trash cans on fire, tires slashed on 30 vehicles and a burglary at the Cake Gallery where most of the inventory was damaged, and cakes were thrown against the windshields of vehicles nearby.

Omaha Police Investigators announced Tuesday afternoon that they had made an arrest of a 17-year-old male juvenile in connection to the incidents. The suspect was booked into the Douglas County Youth Center for multiple charges.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
